2018 BlockWatch Captains Needed

The Willo BlockWatch held its first 2018 BlockWatch Captains meeting at the end of January, with over 15 BlockWatch captains in attendance, along with Community Action Officer, Ben Harris of the Phoenix Police Department. Some of the captains have been doing this for many years and others are getting involved for the very first time. Our goal is for each section of a street (ie 100, 300 and 500 blocks) to have their own captain. They will be responsible for keeping updated contact lists for their neighbors and sharing information to their street and from their streets with the rest of the neighbors. A heartfelt

Thank You to all of those neighbors who have stepped up or continue to step up. I’m excited to say that the following streets are filled – Windsor, Wilshire, Virginia, and Lewis are “complete streets” with a captain for each section.

We are looking for volunteers yet for the following areas:

  • Almeria 300 and 500
  • Coronado 300
  • Granada 100, 300 and 500
  • Palm 100, 300 and 500
  • Holly 100
  • Monte Vista 500
  • Cypress 500
  • Encanto 100 and 300
  • Vernon 300
  • Cambridge 100 and 300
  • Edgemont 100, 300 and 500.
